Diplomas in Health and Social Care


Choosing the right qualification for your staff and business is not quite so simple anymore. Funding for Diplomas are now only available through Apprenticeship schemes. Taylors Academy have put together a simple guide to help you make the right choice when committing staff to a Work Based Qualification.

Taylors Academy now offer the option to complete a Diploma in Care without the need to enrol on an Apprenticeship programme.

Taylors Academy provide Diplomas in Care at levels 2, 3 and 5 for just £50 per person per month for the duration of the course. Throughout the Diploma you will be supported by our specialist in-house assessor.

Funding

Did you know that you can still receive funding towards this these qulaifications? If you are NMDS-SC compliant then upon receipt of the learners certificate, you can claim funding freom the Workforce Development Fund (WDF). Providing the learner has stayed on track with their qualification, then the funding will cover the cost of the qualification.


Diploma vs Apprenticehips

All the Diplomas listed above are incorporated into Apprenticehsip programmes and existing staff members can enrol on an Apprenticeship without the job title of an 'apprentice'. The government fund 90% upfront, but you should be aware of the requirements of an apprenticeship in order to receive the funding.

  • Learners will have to dedicate 20% of their working time towards learning. This is equivalent to 1 day a week for a full time employee.
  • Learners must complete English and Mathematics functional skills at one level lower than the level of their Diploma.
  • Learners must complete the 'Care Certificate'. This is often the responsibility of the employer not the training organisation.
  • In addition to the Diploma, leaners must pass an End Point Assessment (EPA) before completing the qualification. Often a training provider includes 1 chance to pass a final EPA. If the learner is not successful with their EPA then most trainer providers will charge for any additional EPA's required.

The 19+ Advanced Learner Loans are perfect for those members of your team who are looking to develop their skills, the learner loan scheme (formerly the 24+ loan) is used to fund Level 3 and above courses.
